Heating Issue
Recently I chipped my stock 2001 A4 and it runs great but I think I have combustion chamber heat issues. They manifest themselves as slight bumpy hesitations while on the highway. I've tried cooler plugs and it has reduced the problem. If I go to a lower octane gas say 89 with lower combustion temps everything runs ok but I lose the power from the 93 octane stuff and it is noticable. I'm looking for suggestions to further reduce the temps. I'm kicking around ideas to airout the stock intercooler with better venting or linking an additional intercooler to the system. Would a K&N filter or freeing the exhaust help, maybe even a little? Thanks in advance for any help.
