HELP!!

Took my car out for a spin today, no previous problems. All of a sudden, the car feels like its gonna stall. Almost like I'm running on 3 cylinders. Car has no power, and idles horribly. CEL came on, flashing. I have 34000 miles on my 01 A4 1.8tq tip. I have an APR stage 1 chip, which I've had for 4000 miles. Any ideas on what this could be? Thanks in advance!

Coilpack and it has nothing to do with chip, happened to my dads stock 1.8t last week,

when you get them replaced make sure they replace them all. They usually go bad back to back. If your cel is flashing like you said, you are going to have to get it towed to the dealership. Good Luck

sounds like coilpack...3 of my original 4 has gone bad.

RELAX........help has arrived!!!

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13510/mvc-004s.jpg"></center><p>Does your car have one of these under the air filter box cover? If yes, then its your coil amplyfier.....Takes like 3 seconds to replace, and it costs $190-$230 from the dealership....
Note:....when this part goes...u get a Cyl #2 misfire.....

No, he's got an '01....doesn't have the amplifier.

Apparently the amplifier is integrated into each individual coilpack on those MY, at least so says the tech when he replaced mine. Looks like he'll need a new coilpack.
