Default Help!!

Sorry for posting this in the main forum, but I have run into a bit of a problem switching out my aftermarket wheels for the stock ones (there's about a foot of snow coming down in D-town right now).

I was told by the folks who put my aftermarket Ace Lola wheels on that they used standard "hub rings" to put the wheels on and not spacers.

When I removed the aftermarket wheels today to put the stocks back on I noticed that there is a hard rubber or bakelite "ring" with the numbers 73 stenciled on it that appears to have welded itself to the hub.

Is this normal? Is this a hub ring or a spacer? and most importantly how the heck do I get the thing off of there?

Default It's gotta be a hubring... Lolas don't need spacers.... more...

Lolas need hubrings because like most aftermarket wheels, they aren't hubcentric with the Audi. Besides, spacers are always metal... if it's rubber or plastic or the like, it must be a hubring. I had the same thing happen when I swapped out my Lolas for stock 16's when I sold my car... the black plastic hubrings believe it or not can get rusted on, melted on, and fuse around the hub. Take a wide flathead screwdriver and pry it out all the way around... if not use a little mallet to "chop" it out. Chances are, they will break since are made of a flimsy plastic material. I broke all 4 of mine when I removed them. No biggie. They only cost about a buck or 2 to replace.
