I need some advice. I am waiting to pick up my 1.8t quattro, silver, onyx leatherette, with cold weather, quattro celebration, and 17 inch wheels sport package, 5spd. I need the car by the 8th of Feb. but it looks like it wont be coming in until late Feb. the dealer called me yesterday and told me that she has a 2.8 quattro 5spd in stock that she could give me for $25 more a month in the lease payment. Its silver with Onyx leather, has the celebration package (formerly the premium package) the cold weather package, but no sport package (it comes with 16 inch wheels anyway) and the bose upgrade. It seems like all that im getting for the extra $$ power leather seats, a slightly more powerful engine and the bose stero. I could have this car when I need it, but am unsure if the 2.8 is worth the extra $$. can anybody give me some advice as to what to do?????

Depends on what you want from the car.
If you were planning on doing a lot of aftermarket upgrades (ie. chipping) and want a sportier feeling car, wait for the 1.8T.
If you want a smoother, more luxurious feel, and plan on keeping the car pretty much stock, the 2.8 is a great car.
The big question here though is whether you would be happy with the stock suspension on the 2.8. I consider the Audi Sport Suspension to be a baseline minimum for me - I could not live with the floatiness of the stock suspension. So, if I got the 2.8, a set of aftermarket shocks and springs would be a must.
Consider these things carefully, but if you really had your heart set on a 1.8T, find a way to wait the extra couple weeks. After all, why pay extra for stuff you really don't want or need.
Having said that, I love my 2.8, but the "extras" were important to me.
Good luck - Rog

two weeks or so renting a car if thats what needs to happen........
will cost alot less than $25 (the addl for the 2.8) over 36-48-60 months term of your loan.
I'd wait for your 1.8, and rent. a couple of hundred now is less than a thousand + over time.
my $0.02

Have you driven it?
I agree with RogDog, the sport suspension would be key for me. I assume there's a reason you ordered it. There's a reason you didn't order the Bose, too. If it were me I'd wait for the 1.8 I ordered, and I'd be happy that I got exactly what I wanted. And don't dismiss the possibility that this salesperson is simply trying to make her numbers for January by putting you into a car now. The fact that it's for even more money is a bonus (for the dealer, not you). If you're truly undecided, go drive that 2.8 if you haven't already. Maybe once you do so it'll be a very easy decision. Whatever you do, don't leave yourself open to 36 months of second-guessing. Get what you want.
