HELP- A4 Wheel (offset / width) question

a8 stock wheels dont fit
friend of mine has a set of 5 stock a8 weels w/tires for 400 bucks, i was like hell yeah i'll take em. but when we tried to install one it rubbed on the black arm behind the wheel. they are 5x112, 17x8, not sure of the offset though.
