HELP !! Engine MOUNTS
car is a 1996 a4 2.8 12v manual non-quattro Hi i just went to get my car checked out and its all groovy - the fact that ALL 3 of my engine mounts are destroyed . i looked online and they cost 80 bucks for 2 mounts and 44$ for a snub mount. the guy at euro inports said parts would cost 560$ when i get 124$ and labor is 600$ ?!?!?!? does this sound right? i would love to buy my own parts and do it myself but time is an isue i need to do this soon. can anybody tell me of the falowing?: 1 what to pay 2 where to get it 3 how to put it in myself . if somebody on here can help me it would save my life due to the fact im dead broke from "driveing on a sidewalk" when i was actualy laping a golf course - cart circuit that ticket killed me

snub = $16, 2.8l engine mounts = $65/ea

Mounts bolt the engine/transmission to the chassis.
Poor mounts feel kinda like poor shocks. The engine vibrates and moves excessively, and is not firmly connected to the chassis.
New or upgraded mounts help the engine put the power to the wheels instead of just shaking the chassis.

is there anyway to tell if mine are on their way out?
my car seems like it shakes a lot but I'm not sure if its normal or not. It also seems like theres lag or slack when I get on and off the gas. Bugs me so much, most of the time people that are riding with me cant tell but I always notice it. I always wondered if it was an engine mount. PS I have an APR snub which helped some but its still there
