HELP! No boost?
I sort of posted something similar earlier, but I'm kind of stumped as to what could be going on, so I'm posting again for the evening crowd.
My car is a 1999.5 1.8TQm. It's GIAC chipped. Normally, it's got that satisfying Zwing! at about 3K on the tach. As Im driving to work (and home from work this evening), its not there. It feels like the car hasnt been chipped at all.
Im wondering what the symptoms of a faulty BPV would be. Does a faulty valve just make the boost more unpredictable, or feel like its not coming on at all? I cant notice anything. It feels bone stock.
I've verified that theres probably nothing goofed with the ECU, my rev limiter is still set to 7k. (hehe) The car runs smoothly otherwise... just no boost!
The only other thing Ive changed is that last night I filled up with QuikTrip 93 Octane instead of my normal Chevron Supreme. I'd think QT gas would be acceptable at worst -- would running a mislabelled gas (i.e., it said 93, maybe it was 87
cause the car to feel like its just got 0 boost?
Man, this is depressing. Can anybody give me any clues? Im probably going to run this tank down and go back to Chevron just to verify, but Im afraid Im going to have to take it up to Eruotech Atlanta and have Brian take a look if I can get any good ideas here.
