Default HELP PLEASE!

So I went to get my car fixed today. Every time I would turn on my car then drive then hit the brakes, they would slip then grab the next time I pressed them. Ends up that my passenger side rotor and pads are junk. The back pad is gone and the rotor is F'ed. Now the shop told me that to be safe, I need to replace JUST the upper right control arm (96 2.8 has I think 4 on each side) Does this make sense? Can my brakes have too much pressure on the inside right because of too much play in the bushing? I am not about to throw down 600 bucks for new rotors and pads and 1 part of a control arm. Thank you.

Default I don't think the two are related. If you need new pads and rotors...

you should go for it. Do the control arm while he's in there to eliminate impending (or existing) clunking over road bumps.

On my god....the clucking is crazy. But over the summer, Dover Audi World said that although there is a ton of noise and play, that it is not a NEED TO DO thing.

Default Technically I guess they're right. The joint still works but the bushing is shot

And it makes a ton of noise. At some point I'd have to guess it's going to put unhealthy stress on other parts of the suspension and/or steering. Just get it done and you'll thank yourself profusely (and your friends won't wonder if your car is falling apart any more).
