<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v151/darioc/IMG_0666.jpg"></center><p>
ok so im real frustrated right now! installing my koni coilovers on my 01 and got the rears done sweet! move onto the fronts, on the passenger side, removed the nut off the bolt that holds the two ball joints, and the bolt did not move at all when i tried to take it out. not even when i hit it with a hammer, which in turn stripped it. i just want to know if instead of removing that bolt with houses the two ball joints, if i can remove the two bolts on the strut mount that hold the two arms that have the ball joints? im going to rethread that bolt tomorrow but i just want to know which way to do it! how does it come out? it felt like it was going to break if i tried any harder! anyone know how?

please help.

heres a pic of the bolt im referring to:

Default Take a dremel and cut the bolt in the middle, then remove each half and replace with a new bolt

Alternatively you can remove the shock/spring assembly without removing the arms, just undo the two screws from the access holes in the fender (you have to remove the plugs)

Default I had to do the same on mine. Cut with fiberglass cut off wheels on a dremel.

And hammer with a punch tool. One didn't come out and it had to be drilled. Also he could undo the three bolts from the engine compartment and not have to remove the plugs.

Default Order a new bolt kit first thing in the AM.

If you can't get it out your self you will need to remove the assembly and get it to a garage. I had to do so since one of the bolts wouldn't move at all, and I let them drill it out on a press.

Also if you take the hub assembly out to have them remove/replace the bolts. Buy wheel bearings and have them done at the same time. VERY worth while if you end up removing the assby. Bearings are $100 and another $100 for a garage to press the new ones in on the parts you already removed. Otherwise you are looking at at $1000 job later. Because you WILL need new wheel bearings.
