HID conversion issues
I have a 97 2.8Q and I'm installing a xenon kit into S4 housings. I'll be trimming down the front corner panels to get the one-piece S4 housings in there. My problem is the plug coming from the car is round and has three major prongs (to fit the halogen housing). The female port on the back of the S4 housings is semi-rectangular and has a series of pins inside. Obviously incompatible. Has anyone run into this issue before? How did you resolve it? Can I just buy the male side of the plug at the dealer, cut off the old halogen plug, and install the HID plug? Are there other work arounds?

this is what i did if you don't get a conversion harness
keep your stock wiring harnesses. I still use my male and female plugs from my stock 2-piece lights.
All I did was punch out the wires from the rectangular adapter, the one with all the pins in it. Once you have done that, cut off your stock plug from your old head lights, leaving some slack wire to use of course, and feed your stock wire through the rectangular adapter. finish up with some soldering and you're done!
