HID conversion question

I've been searchin and searchin..but can't find my answer...Here's my question. I have a 2001 A4 and would like to know if I need an HID conversion done for Xenon's or not or can I just get the bulb? Anybody know of a post that can explain this to me? I have the Homelink which is part of the Premium package but I don't have Xenon's...I have to buy the complete upgrade kit with new Bulbs and Light housings???

you can use the stock housings

but you'll need bulbs and ballasts. call supreme power parts. they carry great kits and can answer all of your questions.

The Xenon's are more than just a bulb. You need the kit that would include the light, housing, and charging unit. I had PIAA superplasmas in my TL Type-S for my fog lights and I was very happy with their color. Maybe just go with a whiter bulb instead of the high cost of an HID kit. Hope this helps!

like chip said, you can use the stock housings

however, most people who get HIDs also end up getting ecodes (that's european-spec headlights, fyi). the ecodes provide a sharper cutoff and a more focused beam pattern which is good when you have HIDs. you can get those from SPP as well for around $325, though i hear ECStuning.com has the cheapest price on those right now (@ $309).

the SPP kit (which is where i bought my HIDs) will include the bulbs and the ballasts and wires. remember, you need an H7 kit.
