HID Problem! help

ok heres whats happening. when i turn it on both of the headlights(hid) work, then a couple seconds later the driver side will turn redish then die out...

now what i wanna know is, is the bulb dead? or is it something else? (ie ballast?)

Have u checked to see if the bulb in lose?

if u have a volt meter, check to see if your getting 12 volts

Are these the $100 HIDs? Seems like a lot of HID problems lately.

I'd be careful about probing around with a volt meter............

Yes, it's primarily 12 volt system, but the ballast puts out something like 23,000 volts at starup. That not something that I would like to feel.

Also never turn on a HID bulb vertically. The bulb will "salt" and render itself useless very quickly. I almost did just testing them out, seems like a good idea at the time.

damn! already ordered some replacement bulbs lol. anyways where can i get a replacement ballast?

This happened to me about a month ago and it was just the bulb

Mine turned a hot pink color and eventually died. I confirmed it was the bulb by simply replacing the bad bulb with my good one. Please do this before checking out your ballast. I have D2S style bulbs and I ended getting a pair off of ebay for around $65 and I am quite happy with them.
