The range in a 2000 Audi A4 Avant has never been an issue, as far as I
know.
Please try the below suggestions. If they don't help your range,
please let me know...there are some other options we can explore.
* First, try retraining your HomeLink with a brand-new battery in the
hand-held remote. It is very important that you send the strongest
signal possible to HomeLink-- especially with an older transmitter
like you have.
Make sure you clear your HomeLink completely before trying to
re-program this button. (press and hold the two outside buttons until
the red indicator light begins to flash- 20 seconds)
* If that doesn't help immediately, clear HomeLink again and try
this: Instead of holding your remote in one position during the
training process-- try holding the hand-held remote at different
lengths and angles from the HomeLink. First try 3 inches, then 5
inches, then 1 inch, etc. Hold your hand at different angles, too.
Make sure you keep your fingers holding both buttons the entire time
you're doing this-- until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
Please let me know if this does not work.
