Default How do I do this?

I don't have an A4 yet, but hopefully will by the end of the year... Just want this info so I can start planning:
If I get an A4 with the sport suspension and get 17" wheels, I definitely want to drop the car about an inch or so. To do this, what suspension components do I need to replace? Of course, I want to keep the upgraded sport package pieces since I'm paying extra for them anyways. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for any info.
gco

Default For 1" drop, all you need are new sport springs - H&R, Neuspeed. Couple hundred bucks, will give you the drop you want.

Default Several opinions......

I just did this on my GTI. You can just change springs, and there are varying degrees, ie things like Eibach pro kits dropped the GTI about 1.2 inches in front and 1 inch in rear. Eibach sports drop car about 2 inches. changing springs will usually wear out stock shocks faster, as they are not calibrated for the heavier spring. I changed to Bilstein HD shocks at same time as springs. You have to be carefull on this also, if you go to sport springs you need to go to sport shocks so that the spring and shock are matched in length. At least that is the way on the GTI. Now on A4, if you are getting sport suspension, the car is already 20mm lower than standard anyway. Eibach has a web site that shows the drop of various spring paks. Be carefull, as what they
indicate for drop is usually from stock height.
