how to program windows up or down with key in door

a4'ers-
how does one program the windows to roll up or down with the key in the door lock?
96 A4 2.8 12v

It should do that from the factory. Ours did.

As for the rest of the tricks, I don't think it works with the Delta radio.

You need...

to get access to someone with a VAGtool diagnotic program and connector to connect to your onboard computer and program the correct setting. To find someone that can do this, post your location and a request for someone to do it.

It works with the Delta radio, my '97 was programmable, BUT.....

....the problem is you can't recode the "control module" on a 1996 A4.

Mine was programmed so that you roll windows up/down from key fob!

Ahh. BUT, our car does this with the key already.

Oops, you are correct, I thought he was talking about doing it with the remote.....

....the S4 is awesome! Feels pretty heavy compared to my A4, but the engine is so damn smooth and has so much torque that it's very easy to find yourself going very fast without even realizing it. Still under "break-in" so haven't gone too crazy yet, but I'm really enjoying it so far.
