an idea for the ambient temp sensor...
i'm sure some of you with FMIC's have thought about this, but why not put it in the piping for a front mount, post FMIC. That is to say, put the sensor into the intake tract and let it display to you the post intercooler temps. Would be a great way to see what your intake temps are in realtime. Any idea how hot the ambient temp sensor will go up to?

it has been done bro! you just need to search around...
I had the same idea a while ago, but I decided against it because I wasn't comfortable putting that probe in the intake track... if it blew off, I would be in trouble!
but TTschwing did something cooler, pre and post temp guages... to measure intercooler effieciny... I think I will do something similiar when I get a intercooler...

originally I wanted to get a temp rearview mirror and route the ambeint temp to that, and route the IAT to the dash...

Since they were testing IC's,
I would imagine they were getting pressure and temp readings pre/post IC. Sounds like that's what he's looking for. He could ask what they used and where they got it from and save himself some legwork.
