Default ignition coil problems - for 5th time

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced as many coil failures as I have on my 1.8T. I already had the 4 original "H" coils replaced with "J" coils, and now a "J" coil blew again! I have instituted a Lemon Law claim, but Audi's stance is that the car is fixed...apparently it isn't fixed if I just blew a replacement coil. I am also looking for opinion from anyone about coil problems - could these coil problems actually be attributable to an engine problem that Audi doesn't want to admit to?

Default How old is the car and are you still making payments on it?

I had three go bad before they finally replaced all four - this was before the recall. I was pissed (obviously) so I called AOA quite a few times. I was without my car for weeks so the eventually agreed to make a car payment for me. They said they would pay, then said no, then agreed. Worth a shot, though.

Default Interesting...

I received a letter from Audi requesting that I go to my dealer because their records showed I had not replaced all my coil packs.
Strange since the dealer said they had.
So, I went in and indeed they changed one more (and I don't have a 5 cylinder)
Seems under pressue (me i was p#ssed)they installed an old design CP and told me it was a new one. I had looked and I thought the part number was different but what the hey.

Possibly some of the earlier changes when the CP's were hard to find were bogus.

my $0.02

Default Re: Interesting...

You are right very interesting...on my 10,000 mile tune up my dealer asked me whether all 4 cps were replaced and I said yes and told them they told me that had replaced all 4 original cps...weird thing was I had received a notice from Audi telling me their records indicated I had not brought my car in for recall (i.e. didn't have all coils replaced). When I questioned the dealer about the discrepancy all they said was that they would take care of it for me!! I love getting scammed by these people -- you try to work with them and they screw you in the end. Well, my turn now...started a Lemon Law action against them.

My car is 18 months old...i had all 4 original coils go bad, I fought with Audi from Day 1 about replacing all 4 at once instead of individually as they go bad. My 5th coil that went bad was a replacement coil!!! When I brought into shop this past time they replaced all 4 coils again...I am now on my 3rd set of coils!!! I have begun a Lemon Law action against Audi now...throughout this whole mess they have been acting in very bad faith!!!
