Ignition problems
What part needs to be replaced when you put the key in the car, start the car, and the key is not automatically pushed back so the starter is not engaged?
I already had it replaced once under the recall, and it broke after 2 years this time.

It's probably just a little sticky...... but you may need a new switch. If the spring loaded action is not working, it's in the switch itself to answer the question directly.
By the way even WD 40 will work in this case, but the other oils are 200% better.
What fun it will be to take the steering wheel off!

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE PLASTIC IGNITION SWITCH HOUSING CAN FRACTURE AT THE RETURN SPRING ANCHOR POINT. FRACTURE OF THE HOUSING COULD CAUSE THE RETURN SPRING FORCE TO BE INSUFFICIENT FOR RETURNING THE IGNITION KEY TO THE RUNNING POSITION AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE.
Consequence of Defect:
THIS CONDITION CAUSES ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES SUCH AS WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND HEADLIGHTS TO BECOME INOPERATIVE.
Corrective Action:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH.
