Ignition question...

Anyone have an idea how much it will cost, worst case scenario, to have my ignition replaced? I am pretty sure my ignition cylinder is broken and not the ignition switch. Also, should I leave this up to the stealership or will I be alright with a local Audi/VW specialist?

Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions I have been asking lately...this is the first time something serious has happened to my baby since I bought it a year ago (I guess I have been lucky)

Don't go to dealer

If you cannot fix it yourself, find a good local mechanic. I could write a book about the complete incompetence from Audi dealerships (0 for 6 visits for fixing anything!)

hmm interesting

I guess your local dealerships have crappy techs... I rather like the tech that helps me at work.... among the best I've met.

what makes you think its the cylinder?

If this is the piece that is attached to the ignition switch, I would recommend doing it yourself.. Its not too difficult.
