Ignition Switch?

Ignition Switch?
2001 A4
Drove it around today. Parked for a little bit. Unlocked the door remotely with my key, turned it in the igntion, nothing. No click, no vrrrr, no sound at all. All the lights on the dashboard come up. I can turn the headlights on, the radio, even roll the windows up and down. Also, I can take the key out and still do those actions. I can take the key out and close the door and the radio will stay on until I turn it off. Furthermore, they key no longer locks or unlocks remotely - only manually.
Any suggestions? I took the car to my local shop and they said I need a specialist. Something is wrong with the ignition switch. To even look at it, they would spend at least two hours to pull it apart but they probably cannot do the job anyway.
How bad is this and does anyone have recommendations for where I can get it towed in Los Angeles for repair?
