Installed - Eibach Pro Street System
I just got done installing the Eibach system, consisting of their springs and matching shocks. The rear shocks comes with a new shorter bump stop, the shock length are the same as OEM and the springs are about 2" shorter.
I've been through many suspension setups on the MK 3 VW's (Konis, Bilsteins, Spax, AVO, H&R etc), but this is one of the nicer riding setups. The Eibach gas shocks are made by Sachs. Finish is good, as expected. I was going to go with the Bilsteins/HR's, but I don't like the compression rate as it hits a bump.
Riding on 16" Swing wheels, this Eibach setup is just a LITTLE rougher on the bumps, but rides just about factory smooth. It absorbs the bumps, like a real suspension should and does not have a washboard ride. Handling is crisp and much improved. I'm not looking for "handling on rails" as I've been there and done that.
For anyone who's looking for an enhanced factory ride, with it lowered - not quite slammed, this setup should be a serious consideration.
The kit retails for over $1k and the street price is around $850.
