Installing a suspension. Difficult?
I have a 1996 A4 2.8 with the quattro system and I purchased a brand new Koni suspension system (springs and shocks).
Its the Koni reds I believe. What I'm wondering is whether anyone has had any experience installing a similar system into a similar model car. Is it a difficult installation? I'm certainly going to take my time with it and would like to avoid spending money to have it installed. Would I be able to do the installation if i have jackstands and the proper tools? I haven't done anything nearly as involving as this.
Is a suspension switch a difficult process that I should leave for the pros or can I tackle it myself?

You can do it yourself...it's not that bad.
There is a tech article in the wheel and tire section of the TECH section on your menu bar above. It's the one written by Frank Shep....? That covers most of the gory details. He does have you removing one bolt on the front suspension for the upper control arms. Skip that, you can leave that joint intact.
Proper tools is really the key...without which, things come to a screaming halt, and you take 3 trips to the local hardware store looking for stuff.

Koni Specials
Slightly softer damping, internally adjustable. They're generally internally adjustable only, and come with a red body, instead of the typical yellow.
Not many models are imported in the US, since they're cheaper, and Koni US doesn't bother with them. Vogtland offers a number of kits with the Reds, however I've never seen anything for Quattro.

One of my friends works for Massimoperformance.com and I asked him if he could get them. He asked his boss and it was a special order to get them. A little bit more for the special order but from what I've read about Koni specials (reds) they are very good.
