Instrument Cluster Problems

I purchased a used instrument cluster for a 2000 1.8. It works perfectly in My 2000 2.8 with one exception, the Tach appears to be off. Is there a way to re code the cluster with VAG-COM? If so, are there any tech write ups out there that describe the process?

it's a 4cyl tach.....

it probibly reads 50% high. i dought you can fix this, but if you can asking on the vag/com forum is your best bet.

find someone with a Vag Tool, it's a simple fix

Just need to change 1 code. I have the link if you want it.

yes you can recode them, I dont know how but I've seen it done before

somebody put a S4 cluster in an A4 1.8T and altered the values in the cluster and it read properly.

the A8 forged 5 spoke 17x8 wheels. also do you know the et on these? tia.
