just a question
i was just wondering if anyone's coolant temp gauge has ever exceeded the halfway mark. mine did for the first time in 2 and a half years on my 98 1.8tqms. it was around 85 degrees the other day, one of the first heat waves we had in awhile around here, the a/c was on, and i shut the car off for about 10 minutes and turned it back on and it was one increment passed the halfway temp. However, it went down in a couple of minutes. just curious. thanks.

yes mine did too, im chipped, let the car cool down it wont happen, its not a problem, its that...
tthe engine oil heat soaks the extra energy when you shut off the car since no cooling is taking place and ur car is hotter when you turn it back on than when you left it
