K-Wire?

One more aftermarket Headunit question guys, I remember when I was wanting a Jetta I would be at vwvortex alot, and I read an issue about when Jetta owners upgrade to an aftermarket headunit they needed to cut or not hook the k-wire to the new radio. I read that one owner who had it accidently hooked up, when he took his car for service the VAG burned up inside and broke or something like that. Do the 99.5 concert radio's have anything like that? Is ther eany K-wire or anything I have to worry about? Thanks

nobody knows your answer because nobody has really gotten into the area of our cars you have a question on... IMHO that is.

I had my dealer cut it, then safe it off

It's a blue and white wire, if you look at the headunit, you'll see a diagram on the side of it. This will show you what wires are in the plugs. I have a 2001 and the wire was a blue and white wire. I wanted the dealer to do it so they would now that it was done. They told me it won't fry anything, but having this connected won't allow them to scan the car. Of course for a 99.5 it may be different. I hope this helps ya a bit.
