Default K04 sputtering problems.....

Im having trouble with my K04 working correct in my 97. I just updated the MAF today to a 99 model, and it didn't change anything, the problem is when I floor it and the boost builds it starts sputtering like crazy, if I only floor it at higher rpms it works sometimes with out sputtering.
I have a k04-15, 5 bar fpr, RVM bypass valve, giac software.
I tried doing the TB adaption, I tried swtiching back to the stock FPR, nothing changed.
I still have the bypass valve running with no spacers in it to make it any harder, would that create this? Should I try adding spacers or even the stock bypass valve?
The car ran fine with this setup with the stock chip in it, but once I put the chip in, this all started, but I don't know that it would be just the chip because the boost levels are much higher now so it could cause something else to show up.
Any ideas? PLEASE!

Default did you check your vacuum lines?

if you haven't replaced them already odds are they are dry and cracked.

Default are you sure the sputtering is from the Turbo... could it possibly be knocking?

what octane are you running on? what is the chip programed for? when it sputters, do you loose boost? do the rpms drop momentarily? what do you mean by "sputtering"?

I'd say it's either the BPV, or the N75 valve. Most likely the BPV.

Does this help? Do I have a bad plug? To answer questions, it starts sputtering about 15 lbs of boost or so, it boost then flutters from about 13-15 and rpms hold pretty much still but climb slightly. I have however seen it on a downshift today hit 19lbs then drop once rpms are up. I just ran the old ECU on it and it still runs fine......at 7 lbs.

Default Sounds Familiar..

I had the same problem for over 2 years now.. Same exact setup (besides the bpv) and the same symptoms.. I'll tell you now it's GIAC's programming. I have 2 different versions of their KO4 program with the same sputtering effects, but at different RPM's. I've tried several different chips and have had 100% better results than with GIAC. I got so fed up with it I decided to stick with the APR KO3 chip with my KO4. Doesn't run the KO4 to it's full potential, but at least it doesn't sputter anymore.
I got tired of this whole thing, so I picked up a 93 RX7. A4 is the daily driver now.

Do a search of my screen name and see my MANY posts on this topic. Good Luck. If you find the problem, drop me a line. By the way, I have a 97, also.

I am going to try different plugs in the car tommorow, the ones i have are crap anyways, if that doesn't work, I am going to visit a friend this weekend in cleveland who lives a couple miles away from ECS Tuning. So I am hoping they can maybe help me out.
