Key question...

For MY1997 the key and remote are separate. I was wondering if i can get a one-piece "switchblade" type key w/remote. I spoke to the parts department at my local dealer, they said "NO". Is this true or is my dealer retarded? My current remote fob is really banged up and I'd like to get the new type. If they are compatible how do I convince my dealer???

Yes you can use the later switchblade type keys...

Someone posted the part #'s that you need. Then you just have the dealer cut the key and you program the remote as detailed in the FAQ. It costs about $100 for the key and remote tho...

At my dealership the parts guy.....

programed the remote with me just to make sure it worked then he cut me the key. Total was 95 or 100 with the key being cut. Parts guy was awsome, did it for free. He was actually suprised it worked. Sorry, no part numbers.
