keyless entry malfunction

I'm in and out of my A4 all day long and every 2 or 3 days may keyless entry does not function. I have to use the key to lock or unlock my doors. I've taken my car to the dealership 3 times to have it fixed and it's still working sporadically. Any suggestions? Let me know. Thanks a bunch. Thierry@sportsnuts.com

Mine used to do that, though not quite so often. Every couple of weeks it would stop working for part of a day. Then just as suddenly it would start working again.<p>I dropped the remote one day, and the battery fell out. I went through the reprogramming procedure in the FAQ, but couldn't get it to work. I mentioned it the next time I was in for service, and they replaced both remotes. I haven't had the problem since.<p>I guess what I'm saying in a long-winded way is that I think you have a faulty remote. You might carry both for a while (I know they're a pocketful) and when the one stops working, try the other. If it works, tell the dealer and try to convince him to give youa new remote.<p>Kyle<p>PS. Someone else posted about the same problem a while back, but he theorized that the system was reducing sensitivity because of some nearby interference. Sort of made sense until I got my new remotes.
