Hey guys I'm new to this forum, usually use Audi Forums, but was told by a member to ask about my problem hear, he thought you all would have some more insight to my problem.. First off it's a 99 1.8t aeb manual Quattro, I have a ko4 with the regular ko4 program, AFPR set to 5 bar, EVO DV, MBC looped in with my N75 valve, custom test pipe, down pipe and cat back. Now the problem started about a month back all of the sudden while driving the car had a massive misfire, no codes felt more like a fuel cut, when I hit the gas the car sometime's dose not want to go anywhere, it bogs down and feels like it is getting a fuel cut or a having continues misfires. Again no codes no check engine light. I have change the MAF coil packs and ICM still the same problem, New spark plugs NGK's the 7E's the old ones were the 6E's and they look good. It is a rather intermittent problem it dose not do it all the time, I also get fire out the tail pips when this occurs sometimes, and also when I spike I get some pre detonation now that I never got b4, I have a boost gauge and I get 20psi spikes and hold 16psi so I don't thinks it's a boost issue.. it also is hard to start once in a while I guess more so when it is warm.. any help would be great I don't really know where to go from hear, just picked up some 310cc injectors and was looking for a FMIC so I can go pc-16 but want to get this problem resolved b4 any more upgrades. Any help would be great and sorry for the long post..

 

Fuel pump? I know they have issues. Perhaps the 5bar FPR was more than it could handle.

 

He has replaced a bunch of parts, and as he said there arent any codes.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking maybe the A-FPR is possibly set wrong? or possibly a boost leak, but the boost #s look good but I think we should still pressure test it.
Oh and by the way its an early '99 AEB engine so no comparing actual vs requsted boost.

you may also want to replace the fuel filter -- that's important with these things.

I didnt set the fuel pressure, Momentum tuning did, and it ran great for 3 months after the install

 

right after i put my K04 in that happened to me -- one popped off and it did exactly what you're telling me yours is doing...

it's worth a shot...

 

check your fuel lines, something may be pinched. this definetely sounds like a fuel issue.
