The car will be fixed (see post below). The initial estimate was for $5000+, but they left a few things off, so the final tally will most likely be closer to $6k. Replacing 3 wheels, front and rear bumpers, both fenders, windshield, rear window, sunroof (barbed wire scratches), trunklid, right rear suspension, lots of bits and pieces and a full repaint...all on the other driver's insurance of course 
So now after only having driven it for 3 weeks I'll have another month or two to ponder my future mods!<p>Tom M. Matthews

Didn't know you were up there in Ocala until today when I saw your sig. We have monthly meetings in Orlando and lots of events if you want to get involved. We actually have 2 other yellow 1.8t A4s in our club!
And you should consider new rims....for the cost of replacing 3 Audi rims, you can get 4 17" rims from Tire Rack. Do it now while you can, you'll regret it if you dont.<p>Christian J. Long

Yes it was and no I didn't...
No time and effort to spend on a lawsuit, and all the damaged panels but one will be replaced and the car gets a full repaint (no more factory orange peel!).<p>Tom M. Matthews

I had intended to join, but was sidetracked by the accident so soon after acquiring the car.
Here's what I'm shooting for during the rebuild:
Valeo projector headlamps (need to see an install first...know anyone that has them?). I'll probably just sell the Hellas from my VR6 to buy the Valeos and have them put in at the shop since only the corners were damaged, not the headlamps.
Updated tail lamps (probably '99.5+)
No license plate holder on the front bumper!
A nice set of 17" Borbet S or T..have Borbets on my race-suspended VR6 and they've been fantastic. of course I'm open to suggestions<p>Tom M. Matthews
