Longevity of A4
I've been lurking in the forums for a while, though mostly the B6 forum, however I feel that this is the best forum for my question:
<B>How long will a new A4 last? </B>
I've seen the pictures of the '96 A4 that has lasted 166k with little more than scheduled maintenance, but I am guessing that most A4s, as most cars, don't have a problem-free lifecycle quite so long. <B>I'm considering an 03 or 04 A4 1.8t or 3.0 (either trim with a CVT) and want to know about what sort of life cycle I can expect out of it assuming it is left stock. </B> While I know the CVT is new and nobody really knows for sure how reliable it will be in the long run, I'm hoping to gain a feel for how reliable then engines and overall build quality hold up over time. Anyone able to compare this to a Toyota/Lexus? What are the most common problems <I>after</I> the warranty period? Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
