Is there any cheap upgrades or modifications that will increase performance of the A4 (Turbo Chargers and Super Chargers are out of the question)?

Details...please specify what engine you have and what you are looking for. Handling? Braking? Acceleration?

I have 2.8 A4 Quattro, what I'm looking for is an increase in overall performance. E.g. Increase in horsepower of the engine, maybe some handling and braking increase. But most of all for the engine, I'm on a really tight budget so I'm just looking for the best bargains to improve overall performance.
