Default MODS FOR MY B5

HEY GUYS IM NEW HERE AND IM A DAY OR TWO AWAY FROM BRINGING HOME A 96 AUDI A4 2.8QUATTRO AND I HAD A FEW QUESTIONS. BESIDES USING SYNTHETIC OIL EVERY 5K MILES, WHAT ELSE SHOULD I DO OR BE DOING TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE ENGINE? ALSO I KNOW THAT THIS MODEL CANT REALLY BE MODDED BESIDES MAYBE AN INTAKE, CHIP, EXHAUST SYSTEM, COIL OVERS. ITS GOING TO BE MY DAILY DRIVER SO I DONT WANT HEAVY MODS, JUST THE BASICS. WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

Start by removing caps lock.

Brakes and suspension(both I have for sale would be a good start for yourcar then...

There is no chip or supercharger for the 12 valve. The stock intake is best.

The 12v is a FANTASTIC engine. Bullet proof to say the least. You are on the right track. Open air intake (shielded and protected from the hot engine), free flowing exhaust, larger throttle body, possibly a chip are really the only easy modifications for the engine.. you could port and polish the head as well as re build, though it can be rather costly for not much more gain.

Do the above mods with a good suspension and upgraded brakes and you have yourself a rock solid Daily Driver that will handle, brake and sound sweet.

Lol sorry for the caps lock being on, and the car is a 30 valve. And i thank everybody for the tips and advice. So far what im hearing is that a good suspension, exhaust and brakes are good for starters. is that correct?

Correct. Do what you feel needs to be done with those. If you want to change the appearance, do the suspension. If your into a nice mellow idle with a nice growl, go BORLA. But if you can't seem to stop or the rotors are going, do the brake upgrades.

Bilstein has a nice suspension kit but everyone has their opinion. You get what you pay for. Many had luck with the vogtland suspension. Exhaust wise, I would go full Borla exhaust, its worth it. No worries about it rusting, like the APR nightmares. StopTech has a nice brake upgrade kit but its very expensive, so like i said. You get what you pay for. I would go slotted or drilled rotors with a more aggressive pad. Easier and cheaper.

I'm a 1.8T so I know they carry your parts but I'm not sure the specifics. Do a little HW on here. This discussion has been brought up a lot and there are a few good sections on the 2.8 mods.
