Moonroof Problem (shutter)

I have a 97 A4qm. About 4 months ago after not driving the car for about 2 months (its garaged while I'm away at school) I turned the **** to tilt the moonroof and heard a big pop but it continued to open. I closed it and opened it again and it seemed fine and did it without making the noise, so I assumed it was just stuck from not being used for a while. Later that day I turned the **** to open the moonroof completely and it was fine until it got about 3/4's of the way back and as it started to shutter or vibrate as it finished retracting. When I came home that evening after work I checked the track for debris and found none, so to be on the safe side I lubed the track with a grease pen. It helped slightly but I still have this problem. I know next to nothing about moonroofs so I was hoping someone would no what causes this problem and if there was any way to fix it.

I had a ~similiar~ problem on my older 97 A4

It wasn't the track and/or grease on it but was the sun shade that was getting stuck in the track... they had to remove and replace the sun shade.

Sunroof cover guides...

that happened to my 97 twice so far. Both times it was the sunroof cover guides. ECS sells a kit to fix it for $11.95. You may want to just get them from your local dealer.

Mine has a similar problem, when i turn the **** one click from the last click it's fine, when i....

turn that last click the thing just goes POP, and u see the entire assembly move a lil bit. also does the vibrating when it is closing, are u guys sure it's those little clips for the shade?, seems like something unlikely
