Mudflaps
Furthermore they are UGLY.
I put them on my car with the intention of "protecting" my paint on the lower door sills and rear quarter panel.
I wish I had never put them on. They look ugly.
And now I cannot even take them off because the paint is all scratched up, and the mudflaps have to stay on for the SOLE reason of hiding the scratches.
If you still think you want them, I have two suggestions for you.
First of all, put the Clearbra material on your fenders, so that the plastic mudflaps do not touch the paint directly.
Second, use the Audi "mudflaps" instead of the molded "splashguards." See Avram Dorfman's write-up in the Tech section of Audiworld for the proper part numbers -- although the part numbers might be different for an Avant.
The "mudflaps" are not quite as ugly, and they don't wrap around as much as the "splashguards."
I still say don't do it. And I wish I could turn back the clock on mine. :-(
