MY2K problems?
Skippy,
I'm an Audi tech in CA, We really haven't had any serious problems yet. The biggest problem of late is with the fuel level senders in the gas tanks of the A6 Quattros, some carbon build up problems with some of the 2.8 5 valve motors, and water pumps leaking on the 1.8 turbos. When the 2.8 5 valve first came out we had a couple casting problems in the heads, one had a poreosity problem with oil leaking out of the casting and an other with a casting plug hole that wasn't machined properly, leaking coolant. All in all, I think they've been pretty good. I just bought a 98 2.8 w/tip Avant, I'm not afraid.

1) Something in the seats is loose (my guess is that it's the heated seat units). I will mention to the dealer on the first service.
2) The Bose radio has a few 'glitches'. It changes stations or the settings sometimes when the car is started. Very minor problem, not even sure if it's worth having fixed.
All in all after two months the car has been very trouble free.
Really the only thing that's happened to me so far is a little seat fastener that holds the seat cover down came loose and was trying to poke its way through. The dealer just took and removed the cover, put the clip back and all is well.
Other than that the rear passenger door doesn't unlock via the handle as it should...it only unlocks like 3/4's of the way or something. Unlocking via the lock button works no problem. I'll have that checked out at the next service interval.
Had the car chipped for a couple thousand miles now and it's running AWESOME...Go GIAC!
