Need help quick!!

I'm installing my apexi turbo timer, and i need to extend 2 wires to reach the fuse box. one is the 12v and other is ignition. the only wire I have available is the white o2 sensor wire that came with the timer. its long enough, but the gauge is a bit smaller. If I use the smaller gauge wire to extend the 2, will it be a safety issue? i dont want any electrical fires.

I should also note that the ground wire is the same gauge as the wire I want to use as an extention...

Ideally, you want to use the same gauge but if it's a gauge size smaller

I wouldn't worry. Insulating it properly would be a bigger concern. However, how much longer are we talking?

I'd prolly run out to Rat Shack and pick up some additional wiring.

If you're going to do it...might as well do it right.
