Need some help on doing an E-Code halogen-to-HID conversion....
He currently has a 2002 A4 with the US spec stock HIDs. Wanted to know what was involved in making this swap....
From what I've gathered, you have these areas to be concerned with:
Ballast location--- Can you use the stock location/ mounting place? or is some cutting/ modification required? If not, then where do you mount the ballast?
Bulb holder--- Do you have to change the halogen bulb holder (H7) to the Xenon one?
Projector--- Can you use the Halogen projector, or is it best/ required to change this part out as well?
I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, I'm hoping that a few of you can help out with this---I would greatly appreciate it.
I've searched the archives w/o any real success on findind a how-to on this procedure...there's tons of mention that it will work, but I would like to good detail on this change-over....
Thanks a TON!!!

My car did not have xenon lights prior, so I purchased the H7 xenon kit from suvlights.com.
the H7 kit retains the same bulb size that would normally have fit in the headlight. It was as simple as changing a light bulb. You will have to take a hole saw and drill a hole with a 1" diameter into the back of the headlight cover. That will allow you to run the cables out and into the ballasts.
I hope that helps. If you purchased a DS2 bulb for your halogen headlights, i'm not sure if those will fit. The ds2 bulbs are longer than H7.
I paid a body shop about $50 to hide my wires. They did such a good job, I can't even tell where the ballasts and wires are. sorry i couldn't help you htere.
