NEW A4 SERIOUS PICTURES.
Check out the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport website, in their new issue they unveil the pictures of the new a4 (end 2000 for Europe) and the models to come: a Cabriolet and a 4 door coupe!!!!!
You can't really see much on the website but if someone has the magazine, I am interested in looking at how they have dealt with the rear of the car!<ul><li><a href="http://www.automotorundsport.de">http://www.automotorundsport.de</a</li></ul>

Certainly photoshopped pictures...
1. Exact same picture on mag cover and on photo, but two different locations (see position on road)
2. Check position of shadow - main shadow indicates sun over the drivers side, drivers side mirror shadow indicates sun to the front
3. Small passenger side mirror - thought Audi had moved to equi-sized mirrors (perhaps US only)

Actually...
1. Front wheel appears more turned in the cover shot. Frames could have been shot in "rapid-fire" mode, so the car (and drivers hand) position might not appear to change but panning camera with the car movement (to prevent blur) would result in a different line of sight, and thus different background.
2. I disagree. The sun angle appears to be high angle behind the photographers right shoulder. In that case I think both shadows are consistant. Anyway, if someone were to mask out a car in photoshop and recompose it the original, unmanipulated shot would have correct shadows to start with, no need to mess with them in PS.
3. I think it could possibly be the perspective contributing to this effect, but yes I think in Europe the kept the smaller mirror.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=2361"> <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/jasonh_aw_sig.gif" border=0></a>

Re: Certainly photoshopped pictures...
Off course they are photoshopped!!!!!
They have just homogenized the road color for the cover page one! (--> no grass)
I think that as for the A6, the rear and the profile will completely define the car. When the a6 came out, this kind of picture didn't tell anything....
