New code for windows up/down.....Question...

Just got my computer recoded on my 2001 1.8t (For FREE!!) so that the windows go up/down by the remote. I was just wondering does it always work for everyone. The few times I have tried it it does not seem to want to go up, it will always go down though. Once it went up without any problem. Please let me know your experience.

What other features did you have coded?

and.. does it disable pinch protection for normal window usage?<p>-elton

No pinch protection is not disabled

remote range?

I have mine set this way too (VAG-COM tool is nice to have) and it works fine except the range of the remote is well under 50' reliably. Near the edge of the range it is shakey since the up-down function requires a continuous transmission during the operation. When I get a chance I will find out what the deal is with the short range (I am betting poor receiving antenna placement).

I don't remember seeing one touch remote window control as an option to code in. Remote range is...

notoriusly poor and variable. I was told by the service manager that the antenna is in the pilar between the driver's side front and rear doors and that the poor range was due to poor design and there was no fix for MY99 on. MY 98 has a TSB fix.
