Noob, in need of Code help!!!
Ok, I just got a 2001 A4 1.8T (68k miles), and have followed everyone's advise, and did the TB, H20 pump, tensioner, ect., before the engine gernaded on me. I have the check engine light on, and it popped out code: P0411 (secondary air injector system incorrect flow)
I have a Bentley coming which was recommended as a good thing to have, and since mine has not come yet. Any ideas on what the code means? Where and what is the secondary air injector?

The secondary air system injects air into the exhaust manifold during cold starts. The extra air allows the cat to burn of unburnt fuel, which in turn allows it to warm up faster.
The air pump is located behind the front bumper just ahead of the pass. side wheel well. From there a plastic tube runs up to a valve that controls flow into the exhaust.
That tube gets really brittle with age, and it can be easily cracked when doing the timing belt. I'd suggest checking that first. You can fix smaller breaks with several layers of electrical tape.
If that's not the issue, check the valve and the vacuum tubing.

OBDtool uses the shareware version of Vag.com
Works fine for most things.
It doesn't lookup all the codes so you may have to decode them with a Bentley.

I got the code, just not sure where the secondary air injector is?
I have been searching many forums, but have not found a pic of it yet, in order to know if I have the right thing.

Check your purge valve
Check your purge valve. It is the valve on top of the airbox. Make sure it is making a clicking noise. If it is working fine, it is probhably a leak somewhere in the system. It could be a leak in the line, a bad seal on the fuel pump or a puncture somewhere on your gas tank. I am going through the same problem now.
