Odometer and Clock Issues

Hi there. I have a 1999 A4 1.8T, Manual, FWD.

The trip odometer resets to "0" everytime I turn off the car and start it up again.
Also, the clock doesnt work when the car is turned off and then starts again when the car is on.

Anyone have any ideas. Maybe some sort of ground or something. I just had the ignition switch changed
so that might have affected it. Thanks.

My money is on the ignition switch. If you didn't get it from the dealer, it's the problem.

Thanks. Didnt get it at the dealer. If it isnt original, is the ignition switch the problem itself, or is it just some electrical thing? Thanks.

What about the backlighting on the console? I had a fuse for the instrument cluster blowing for 6 months, then it stopped just as mysteriously as it started.

Is your fuse ok?
