Off topic, but relatable
Background:
2003 Passat 1.8T manual. 10k km, (never been in the shop, did my own first oil change).
Problem:
The brake fluid has recently been leaking out the top of the brake fluid resevoir. When I check the brake fluid level on the side of the container it shows somewhere in the middle of min and max. When I open the resevoir, the fluid is virtually pouring out the top. Something is very weird. Also, I have removed some fluid out the top, but the next day it's right back up there to the complete top.
Question:
Anyone heard of something as weird as this before? One person on vwvortex has had the same problem, but he never wrote the solution. The weird thing is, a while later, his hydraulic clutch started making funny noises. The dealer replaced some kind of spring mechanism and the master cylinder. We know the clutch hydraulic and brake utilize the same hydraulics.
I would like to try a best stab explanation for this before letting the dealer "rip loose" on her.... ughhhh
Any help? I ask here because the brake systems are probably very very similar if not exactly the same.
Thanks,

I want to know if anyone else has had a similar problem so that I can EDUCATE myself BEFORE going in.
