98 2.8 5-speed 2wd 68500 miles

1,)Whenever i turn the wheel, the car makes a slight squeaking sound, almost sounds like metal against metal. only does this sometimes. just kinda started happening one day.

2.) the engine kinda makes a "winding" noise when i first start her up. no i dont have a turbo...when i hit the gas, it almost winds or squeels or...its hard to describe. someone told me possibly serpentine belt needs replacing?

3.) major driveline shudder all of the sudden under heavy fuel and when shifting sometimes. this just starting happening one day, i dont know what the hell the problem is. when i let off the pedal and then re-apply , the engine seems to buck way too much. umm...engine mount??

4.) Cold starts. Right when I fire the engine, it makes a click click click until the revs die back down to idle. very rough sound. also, when the engine is still cold something feels reallllllly weird with the throttle...it feels like it is almost "resisting" fuel. The winding noises i mentioned in #2 are extremely magnified under cold starts as well....all these things are worse with however colder the temperature is. are these normal things i shouldn't worry about? or are they serious problems?

well that's all. I'm about to hit the road from FL to west virginia and i want this stuff fixed before i get out there in that cold weather.

I got #4 also, think it's normal. Can also hear air rushing into my intake like it's under load.

 

#1 check your power steering fluid, add some if necessary
