optimizing stock intercooler
I've got a 2000 1.8T with the 1.0 bar APR chip. Just read an article on europeanspeed.com stating that its possible to install the S4 wheel liner (which is vented) thus improving air flow through the intercooler. It should be a cheap mod but will this really help? Don't wanna drop $$$ on a FMIC for a K03 turbo.

FMIC for K03 = improvements, dyno's show that =) and it's one of the better mods for your engine
cooler intake charge = GOOD, less prone to pinging in hot weather and allows for additional timing or boost depending on where you are with tuning.

I have an s4 bumper with custom ducting and the vented liner,
stock intercooler... it makes a difference for sure. When you figure the cost of the liner and ease of installation it's a "no-brainer". ;-)
