P1340 Need Help Fixing...
So far I have replaced:
3 Engition Coils
Cam Tensioner
Cam Position Sensor
Timing Belt
Timing Belt Tensioner
Water Pump
I have the same problem with the cam timing. I have checked the TDC position already 3 times.
With the cam tensioner plugged in the car make a clicking sound while its seems to be trying to adjust. While the tensioner is unplugged you don't have this sound.
What controls the Cam Tensioner?
I have heard you can check the signal wave from the harness to the ECM. Any help would be much appreciable.
Also, maybe checking the signal from the cam position sensor would be another guess as to causing the fault.

If youhave a vag com, it should not be giving you a p code.
P codes are generic. It should be a five digit code. If you have anything but an actual VAG-COM I don't think it will work.
When did the code start? Year, make model? Have you been doing synth oil changes every 3k, with the correct filter?

Here is the same problem I was having before except one of my coils was out. Fixed one problem.
Fix the problem with faulty coil but have a timing issue with the engine. My guess it is wiring or ECM fault. I cannot live with the problem anymore so I took it in this morning for diagnostic...$100/HOUR!

Dude I have one...It was the timing was off. I Have been driving for a couple of days now.
So I had to realign my timing belt it was off a tooth. Turns out there is a mark on the crank pully and the outer crank case. This would of been helpful if the procedure would have called this out. I couldn't find any of the procedures posted on here that call that specifically out to check. Before I noticed the markings on the case I used the TDC from spark plug one turning the crank.
