performance .........help!
However, for handling there's always a number of things one can do, which is what I prefer, but will not do as the car isn't worth it IMO. I'll spend $15k for a C4 Vette with about 80k miles for some decent racing performance and handling, not a 4 seater.
Check out ECS tuning for SOME things you can do. For accel/speed, I would start with cold air intake, and work your way back to the exaust. A chip wont help much, but it WILL help more if you do everything else you can first. I do recommend if you do accel/speed mods, at least upgrade the brakes.
Check out STASIS products as well.
Look into adjustable suspension (arms and springs) Just bolting stuff on is not good enough for a balanced car. Taking it to the track (and I push that vs street racing) to find how you want it to handle vs what it does. Remember, every handling change is a tradeoff in traction somewhere.

A cold air intake is pretty much worthless on a 12 valve.Unless you like the sound don't waste your time, the standard airbox works pretty well. In addition what is this "chip" you are talking about? There is no chip for 12 valve Hitachi ECU's. It doesn't exist and never has.
There is work you can do to clean up the the intake tract but it's not available from any commercial vendor. Several years ago there was a guy (who posted on AW)with machining facilities that was porting throttle Bodies quite successfully. He had a range of stuff including airbox velocity stacks and modified MAF's. Alas unless you can find used items I don't think he does that any more.
Exhaust doesn't make much difference except for the sound. Some people will chime in and tell you to remove the resonator. Don't do it unless you have good Dental coverage, the vibration will loosen the fillings in your teeth. Not recommended, speaking from experience I did try it for three days.
The best mods for my 12 valve were suspension, sway bars and 17"rims.

I would do suspension like you have done though.
some light wieght pulleys will free up some torque, helped my on mpg, and i put and eletric cooling fan instead of the one thats pulley turned, so my stock belt was to big so i used one from a s4, fits great, im not gana bpther with intake, maybe just better filter, i have exhaust and lost alot of back pressure, but faster on higher rpms
