The coil springs is the right front original spring from our 98 A4 Avant 2.8 Tip. Typical break type, never seen one that goes up this high on the first coil though...
These tie rod ends are not that old. They came in a control arm kit I had purchased, I believe they are of Chinese origin, not sure. The metal bits are fine, but the rubber they used for the boots on these things is just crap. They were worn and had several MM of play each.
The car is a lot nicer to drive with all of these things changed!

Yea I changed my 4th back spring on a B5. I've never had to change a front, even on the 96 that had 270,000 on it. And my 4 backs that broke always broke in the last inch or two. Never that deep into the coil.
