Please help!!
There was no water there in the morning when i parked at work yesterday, didnt move the car all day, then when i whent to chuck some stuff in the back when i left work there was a puddle in the footwell.
At first i thought i had left a window down but the seats would have been wet - they are not. I cant see that its got anything to do with the door but i reckon it must be. Last week i had my stereo installed and so they would have pulled the trim apart for running cables, plus i had the windows tinted. But the bottom of the door isnt wet. Ive got rubber backed mats on top of the cars carpet. On top of the mats is another layor of carpet. This top mat layor of carpet is not wet at all.
Someone has told me to check the underside bungs, but i hadnt driven through any especially deep puddles in the morning, then like i said the car stood still for 9 hours after!
Please help as i am truely p****d off
Popped the bonnet, found the wire- sure enough the thick b******s had pulled the gromit from the bonnet release cable and wedged the power cable through and is letting the water run into my car!!
was just logging back on to say id found it when i read your answer - so thanks as you've reasured me that is the problem. Time to get the sealent out me thinks!!
I did the job during the summer so there were no probs until the first day it rained hard... i couldnt figure out why there was such a big pool of water for the longest time i checked everything.. finally i traced the leak to my lazy install....
just thought it was weird someone else had the same leak for the same reason.. goes to show the easy way is hardly ever the best way
