Default please, HELP

I have to bring my A4 1.8T for first service this Saturday. Dealer does not put a synt. oil. So I decide to bring my own. When I asked dealer about oil type that I should get he gave me SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40. I checked manual and they have
0W-30 or 5W-30. So, what should I do? What type oil should I bring to dealer?
My opinion is that I should trust manual more then daler's mechanics. Plus I am planning on chiping my car so low viscosity oil may be better.
And by the way did anybody had experience with Jack Daniels 's service department?
Thank you

Mobil1 comes in both 5W30 and 0W30. It's not the only choice, but is a good choice.

Default I have run 10w30 and 5w30 mobil1...both fine..

I origianlly used 10/30 in the summer and this past winter was stuck buying oil at the last minute and only 5/30 was available. Results the same.
Smoother idling
LOWER oil temps (by 25 degrees summer or winter)
quicker spool up (by my butt dyno)
My car is chipped so this was high on my list of priorities. good luck...

Default What climate do you live in, & how many miles do you put on per yr.&........what...more...

Kind of driving do you do? Any of those oils mentioned by others will work well depending on those factors. Also for example, if you live in a cold winter area, & put enough miles on your car to warrant it, you might use different oils during the cold & warm seasons.
